The Old Town Hall is located on the beautiful market square in the heart of the city. Right next to it, visitors admire Leipzig's most splendid passage - the design of "Mädlerpassage" is based on the model of Milanese architecture. Follow Goethe's footsteps to the famous restaurant "Auerbachs Keller". Do not forget to pay a visit to the classicistic St Nicholas Church (Nikolaikirche), one of Leipzig's most beautiful churches - and probably the most famous one: it was where the peaceful revolt against communist rule in the GDR started.
